New in 2017, the StrydeTM Blue is the world’s first commercial direct diode-pumped Ti:Sapphire oscillator. It is a fully engineered and integrated commercial source based on a single rugged opto-mechanical platform, and eliminates the need for costly frequency-doubled vanadate pump lasers.

Multiphoton microscopy is used in a broad range of fields, including medical diagnostics and basic science. Femtosecond lasers offer the intensities ideal for multiphoton microscopy, however the laser system has the potential to be the cost limiting factor in the broader use of this technique.
In this work, the Authors implement direct-diode pumped femtosecond Ti:sapphire oscillator (KMLabs -Stryde Blue). Diode lasers are far cheaper than the solid state pump lasers currently used, thus making femtosecond oscilators far more accessible.
Both 50fs and 15fs pulse are used to perform multiphoton microscopy on various samples, ranging from micro-machined fused silica, to biological samples.
