Wyvern Ti:sapphire Laser Amplifier

The Wyvern™ single-stage regenerative amplifier system offers unprecedented and unmatched performance from a single-box single-stage amplifier system, including rapid and simple control of pulse duration from 45fs to 135fs.

The Wyvern-7 generates up to 7µJ <50fs pulses, and operates at repetition rates up to 100 kHz.

The Wyvern-20 generates up to 20µJ <50fs pulses, and operates at repetition rates up to 400 kHz.

The Wyvern-500 generates up to 800µJ <45fs pulses, and operates at repetition rates up to 50 kHz.

The Wyvern-1000, with pulses up to 5mJ and up to 10kHz repetition rates.

The single-box laser system houses the Ti:sapphire laser oscillator, single-stage regenerative amplifier, and both pump lasers within a single enclosure. The Wyvern's short pulses, high energy and excellent spatial profile are exceptionally well-suited to nonlinear optics applications, including OPA, NOPA, harmonic conversion and white light generation.

KMLabs also sells add-on OPA and NOPA products designed specifically for the Wyvern series.

Select Wyvern models employ a patented downchirped pulse amplification (DPA) platform. Now commercially available for the first time ever, KMLabs has exclusive rights to the patent on DPA.

Downchirped pulse amplification has numerous benefits over traditional, chirped pulse amplification (CPA), among them:

•  DPA is ~45% more efficient than traditional CPA.
•  DPA is easier to align and maintain than traditional CPA.
•  DPA is less costly than traditional CPA, upfront and over time.
•  DPA preserves a superb mode quality.
•  DPA is less susceptible to spatial chirp.
•  DPA is more compact than traditional CPA.
