In addition to femtosecond amplifiers, femtosecond oscillators, and EUV Generation (HHG), KMLabs offers a variety of products designed to add capability to our ultrafast systems. Dispersion measurements are critical for ultrafast optics, coatings, and systems, and Chromatis is an instrument that provides the highest performance solution to this issue. The 2HG and 3HG accessories allow high power Second Harmonic Generation (SHG) and Third Harmonic Generation (THG). Eclipse is a pulse picker that enables careful and precise pulse selection from a higher speed train of pulses. And, PointLock actively controls the pointing for a pump laser beam or for the ultrafast pulsed output.

Dispersion Measurements

Chromatis is the first and only production-grade test instrument designed specifically to address measurements of group delay dispersion in optical components. It is a broadband optical test instrument that quickly and accurately characterizes the full dispersive properties of optical components and coatings. Carefully managing optical dispersion is critical for optimal performance of ultrafast laser systems, multi-layer mirrors, and multiple quantum well structures. Chromatis is user friendly, self-calibrating, and highly accurate.

Second Harmonic Generation

The KMLabs SHG Module generates second-harmonic light from our oscillators and amplifiers. The SHG Module includes all of the necessary optics pre-aligned inside a sturdy enclosure. KMLabs experts work closely with customers to ensure the SHG Module meets their needs in terms of output pulse energy, bandwidth, and center wavelength. The typical conversion efficiency for converting ~800nm pulses to ~400nm is >20%. Ultrafast Pulse Picker

The KMLabs Eclipse Pockels cell driver provides pulse-picking capability useful for reducing the repetition rate of an optical pulsetrain. A common use of the Eclipse is to reduce the repetition rate of a Ti:sapphire oscillator pulsetrain from ~80MHz down to ~1 – 20 kHz for seeding an amplifier system. The Eclipse is designed to rotate the polarization of optical light passing through it by as much as a half-wave at ~800nm. Customers control the timing and rate at which this rotation occurs by supplying a TTL pulsetrain with a maximum frequency of 20 kHz. The Eclipse includes a Pockels cell crystal integrated into a compact box which includes the high-voltage driver.
