The STRC is a chirped-pulse stretcher/compressor setup optimized for amplification of ultrashort 20-30 fs pulses to the millijoule/ kHz level using multi-pass amplifiers. To our knowledge, no other company sells a stretcher/compressor system as a “stand alone” product. Included in the price of the STRC is assistance in optimization of the setup for the particular amplification setup in which it is used. Customer-supplied data on the optical setup and material dispersion can be incorporated into computer modeling (for example see S. Backus et al, Rev. Sci. Instr. 69, p. 1207 (1998)) to determine the optimum optical configuration to minimize second- and third- order dispersion of the overall setup. This data provides a starting point for system optimization using FROG characterization of the amplifier pulse output (or auto correlation characterization for less-demanding applications). |

The extracavity prisms are mounted on translation stages and rotatable pedestals, for easy adjustment of insertion and minimum deviation. Retro-reflecting mirror for double-passing is not included. User should provide an ~ 1” diameter silver mirror with mount for this purpose. Also, user must provide steering optics (silver recommended) to direct the laser output to the prism pair. User will need access to a mechanism for measuring the pulse duration (eg an autocorrelator, FROG, Grenouille, or SPIDER), in order to determine the exact required prism separation to compensate for a) exiting the laser cavity and b) passing thru any optical components between the laser cavity and the experiment. The nominal prism separation required for exiting the cavity is approximately ½ meter. Versions: EPPR: For the Griffin , Griffin-C, Cascade, and the Cascade-C. EPPR-I: For the Griffin -I, and the Halcyon. |

The KMLabs periscopes have been designed for exceptional sturdiness because the stability of the ti:sapphire laser depends upon the thermal load and mechanical rigidity of the pump laser's steering mirrors. Please note that the impressive sturdiness of these periscopes comes at the cost of easy-adjustment. All adjustment is achieved via setscrew clamping. Therefore, “fine-tuned, optical-quality” adjustment is possible, but challenging. Each version of periscope includes two, ¾” diameter mirrors. PER-R-532: Polarization rotating periscope for use with 488-532nm pump lasers. Includes a periscope to fix the height and rotate the polarization of vertically-polarized pump lasers. PER-M-532: Polarization maintaining periscope for use with 488-532nm pump lasers. Includes a periscope to fix the height and maintain the polarization of horizontally-polarized pump lasers. PER-R-800: Polarization rotating periscope for use with the ti:sapphire oscillator output. Includes a periscope to fix the height and rotate the polarization. Includes silver mirrors. PER-M-800: Polarization maintaining periscope for use with the ti:sapphire oscillator output. Includes a periscope to fix the height and maintain the polarization. Includes silver mirrors. PER-ENCL: Enclosure for the KMLabs pump-periscopes. Includes a simple enclosure for the periscope and beam tubing to be used between the pump laser and the ti:sapphire oscillator. Contact KMLabs for available configurations. |
